Perform Better

Everybody has those pregame jitters or they are afraid of choking. Well heres what I do I am confident that I have figured out the perfect pregame/ swim/ run.
The day before:
Hydration is possibly the most important part of the day before. By the end of the day you should feel over hydrated, as if you gained a bunch of water weight which you have. When you "go to the restroom" it should be clear. Then drink some more.
The night before: Take a hot bath, it will relax your muscles. If you really want to be like me use eucalyptus also. Get out and listen to music as you fall asleep.
The Day: Wake up make a pound of Bacon and a dozen eggs you need protien and finish it you have to man up. If you have school it can be a pain but its ok it will give you more time to hydrate and get carbs. If its the weekend put on your head phones immediatly.
PreGame: Get big head phones to block out useless talk on the bus. Use the ride home to socialize. At this time dont look at your phone or talk isolate yourself. Turn on the hardest songs you have and get pumped up get testosterone flowing. If your nervous think about this. Think about all great men in history or heroes. I think of Achilles, Teddy Roosevelt, King Loenidas, Odyssues and so on. Look at what they did and I cant even swim a mile come on. Once you have that mentality your ready to tear it up.

2010 Running Season

Runnning is perhaps the most popular way to exercise in todays world. People often have different motivations for running some for the exercise, some do it for the run itself, some do it competitivly. I happen to do it for all three reasons. For the enthuasiast that do it just because they enjoy it or do it competetivly they run year round. But for the other half that do it because they just happen to lift and train to stay in shape its time to start back up spring is closing in.

For those who compete they are well aware of the spring opening up for the runs and marathons. With the Flying Pig the largest marathon in the Cincinnati area coming up in just over two months its getting very real. May2, 2010 is the date of this years Flying Pig marathon. Some of the runners may be thinking about tapering in a month to a month and a half. Cincinnati is pretty well known for running through out the U.S and the season for most starts with the Flying Pig and for most ends with the Susan G. Komen Race for the cure in September. However for the very serious there are events all year round, these athletes may preffer the Flying Pig and the Race for The Cure but they still compete in the dark season of winter. However most serious runners of the elite standards will travel to run all over, even go as far as California for Ultra Marathons.

For many High School and College runners this is the marking of Track and Field and go all the way through Cross Country. If your in College you most likely train year round. BUt for High School athletes there is rules to when you may be coached so they must train themselves. Those most who are dedicated do so whil others simply do not have the time.
The ones who do it to stay in shape and to train for other sports the time starts when it gets warm enough. That is fast aproaching February is almost over and the snow is starting to melt. Spring air is moving in and day light will last longer. So there is more available time for training and the sunset just sets the running mood.
So get your shoes and start warming up for the nine months of the year that seem to matter most. Good luck.

Alex Chambers tips and rules of life.

1. Its not over until you give up, but you have to know when to give up.

2. Competition is a good thing it keeps you honest, you have to be honest especially with yourself

3. Comercial diets do not work heres what you need stenious excercise and to lessen the carbohydrate and fat intake. Not completely just enough to continue your work outs.

4. Procrastination is healthy when used at the right times dont be like me and wait to long to barely have a chance at college.

5.Your mind is the strongest tool you will ever hold and its one of the strongest tools of nature.

6. A small pizza is too small. (Yeah thats a metaphor figure it out)

7. Read closely some questions are worded wierd it will mess you up.

8. Dont spend money because you have it.

9. Pay attention when people are explaining things especialy directly to you its important and it is how you learn. Dont learn the hard way.

10. Being stubborn can be good sometimes, but you have to know when.

11. Listening to instinct is very important we are animals all of us we survive of instinct.

12. If it looks to high to jump off of dont jump let someone else try. But do not fear pain or being hurt it is part of life. With out pain there is no pleasure or anything good out of life.

13. When bored dont go to another friend whose bored nothing will get done. HOwever those times seem to be the best sitting around complaining to a friend that thier is nothing to do. Those moments make the moments when we are busy just right or when to busy we can look back on them and laugh. (Ill take that back)

14. YOu had to be there stories are the best because the other person cant join you in histarically laughing.

15. When you have to laugh in class and your not supposed to it makes it far worse you should play it off all tough it seems impossible.

16. Its good to stop and look around and take in scenery of a place and just open your senses and take it all in.

17. Get in touch with the arts all of them because they are emotions expressed by the artist and you can relate to certain pieces during certain periods of life and except things.

18. Life is all about the journey not where you are goin but getting there. (it sounds cleshay but its true).

19. Freshman need to calm down they are chaotic. Seriously its important.

20. THings never go as planned and are not what you expect. SO be ready.

Life is short very short almost non existant, in a time scale of the universe it is almost invisible. The average person lives to about 75 thats short, life is a ride that you must accept it is too short to not enjoy. So live thats our one job, live life. Because life is a miracle, for a planet to sustain life it cant be to close yet not to far from a perfect size star. Im not one of those people who say birth is a miracle, it is but also a terrible process i wont go into. But life is a miracle and it is short, we were born to a perfect planet. It is our duty to walk this earth and explore and learn everything we can. I could write a book on these rules I could have thousands but these seemed important. Take them and live this miracle.

Winter Sports

Norwood High School is expecting to start this season off strong. Will we finish strong? Of course I would like to say yes but lets look at this with an open mind. Do we ever really finish strong? It seems like no, Norwood is a laughing stock to the world of athletics and I am so tired. We are better than that look at our athletes your goin to tell me none of our sports (besides soccer got to give it up for them) can pull off a winning season. We seem to only compete with people in Norwood. Yeah so your better than Josh who cares what about the guy from Moeller. Of course ill here the excuse "but Moeller recruits people" yes but they also work five times harder. We are to good to just sit back and get beat down this season all of us. No matter your sport lets get it. Get up go to practice and work, its not easy but we're to good for this.
Just look at our athletes most are "average" yet our best barely stack up to other schools its time they look at us and say "Good D Good D". Thats the least we can get from these schools. Sure division 1 will be better but we should take division 2 schools everytime. Seriously we can do this lets send a few more people to districts and state we have what it takes we just refuse to give it everything. Our everything is to good so lets get it.

Watchmen: The Book

My first blog entry was on the semi-recent release of DC comics movie Watchmen. However the movie was based on the DC's original graphic novel which was way, way ahead of its time. Realeased in September 1986- October 1987 it was a twelve part comic book series and is now relevant in the Twenty first century more than ever.
I finally read it, kind souled Drew Reagle allowed me to borrow it, I had to let him borrow Batman RIP as a trade. It was a good trade two had to read novels. The watchmen book is far more intense than the movie. With the intense story line (Read first blog to get the story) it has rugged characters. The theme of the story simply is, the worlds full of wrong doing and people turned away from heroes when they needed them the most. It shows the rough side of heroes and it is awsome. The whole story was to show the wrong side of society. To unvail the sacrifice of heroes in a real world. The world falling apart and not even heroes will save it because they were outcasted. "Is this what happens to us? No time for friends, only our enemies leave roses? Violent lives ending violently." as Rorshack put it so cleverly. This revolutionized graphic novels, it was a way of stepping out and changing the way heroes are seen. The entire book is forshadowing the way the world has become in the past 20 years since it was written. Watchmen is a realy thought prevoking book it puts you in deep though. 5out of 5 stars.
